Children's Minister | 317.831.1900, ext. 2016
Nicholas Huether grew up in Plainfield, Indiana, and obtained his Bachelor degree in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University. He has been the Children’s Minister at Mt. Gilead since 2014. His typical day is spent communicating with the children's ministry team, preparing Sunday morning services, and planning extra curricular events. While it can be challenging to get the congregation involved in the children’s ministry, the best advice Nicholas has received from someone at Mt. Gilead was to keep fighting the good fight. The most rewarding part of his job is getting to see kids grow in their relationship with God. Nicholas and his wife, Elisabeth, take care of three fur babies: Javert, a cat named after a Les Miserables character; Guinevere, a dog named after a King Arthur character; and Albus, a dog named after a Harry Potter character.
Nicholas’s favorite Bible verse is James 3:13: “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.”
It reminds me to always do the work God has laid out for me but to do it in a way that is gentle. – Nicholas Huether
