Nancy Polikoff first attended Mt. Gilead after an invitation by a member of the church in 2001. Five years later, she began working as the secretary, often being the first impression of Mt. Gilead to new callers or visitors. Nancy helps maintain information in the database, runs various reports, answers calls and letters, and types out all of the prayers for the Elders and Ministers. While completing these tasks, Nancy is often seen wearing two pairs of glasses so she can decipher handwriting and notes! The most rewarding part of the job, that didn’t even take place before Nancy starting, is when the opportunity arises to research and obtain grants that fund various church projects. In fact, her long-term goal is to earn $1 million in grant funds for Mt. Gilead.
The Bible verse that Nancy values the most is 1 John 4:10 NIV: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
How wonderful that the creator of the universe love us so much he sent his son as a saving sacrifice for us.
