Serving at Mt. Gilead is a great way to use your gifts while getting to know others! We encourage everyone to be a part of a Team so they're serving consistently in a way that is meaningful. Teams at Mt. Gilead vary in size and frequency.

Guest Services
Every Sunday is someone's first Sunday. We are building and developing teams of people to welcome new and returning guests each Sunday. If you would like to serve on one of our Guest Services Teams, contact Jen Reed.

Kids (Birth-Grade 4)
We are always looking to expand our team and we're looking for adults who love Jesus and desire to point kids to Christ through Mt. Gilead Kids. If you'd like more information, contact Bailey Cook.

Student  (Grades 5-12)
We are always looking to expand our team and we're looking for adults who love Jesus and desire to point students to Christ through Mt. Gilead Students. If you'd like more information, contact Nicholas Huether for Grades 5-8 and Fred Schmitt for Grades 9-12.

Worship Production and Music Team
Serving on a worship team is a great opportunity to honor God and help other people pursue God. We are a team of musicians, vocalists, technical volunteers, and worshipers in every sense, and we exist to create an environment that is a catalyst for heart change, and to explore ways in which God can move us to be closer to Him through worship.  Choose an area for more information:  Production or Worship contact Travis Hebert.

Facilities Team
We are looking for those that would like to serve on the facilities team. This might include mowing, snow removal, landscaping, building projects, or maintenance. Contact Mike Bridgewater for more information.

◖ Churches in Mission

Tuesday Night Mission Volunteer  - Mt. Gilead helps to staff the Tuesday evening hours at Churches in Mission. If you are interested in helping, please contact Jen Reed to be added to the Tuesday evening list.

Weekly Food Collection
CIM bag iconMt. Gilead provides the opportunity to collect food items on a weekly basis for Churches in Mission to help stock their pantry throughout the year. A certain number of bags will be available each week with a list attached indicating what food items need to be purchased for that week. The list will change throughout the year based on the needs of the Churches in Mission pantry. If you would like to help, please stop in at the collection corner in the lobby, take a bag, fill it with items on the list, and return the bag to the same location the following Sunday morning.

◖ Local Schools 

READUP Program -Registration for United Way of Central Indiana's ReadUP program opens August 1.  Visit to register online for your tutoring session at the following schools:

Paragon   8:15-9:15am
Poston Rd  2:30-3:30pm
Monrovia  7:30-8:30am
Neil Armstrong  8:15-9:15am
Newby  8:00-9:00am
Volunteers will tutor 1 hour per week on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.  Visit to register online

K-1 Tutors - Mooresville schools are looking for tutors to help kids in grades K-1 with basic phonics building.  You will receive free training on the program.  If you are interested in this once a week opportunity, please contact Jen Reed at

After School Club Sponsors - Do you have a hobby that you would like to teach elementary age children? Local Elementary schools are looking for volunteers to run an after school club to help build a child's self esteem.  For information on how to serve, please contact Jen Reed at

School Staff Appreciation - We are currently looking for volunteers to help plan staff appreciation events in our local elementary schools. If you are interested in serving on a team for a specific school, please contact Jen Reed at

Paul Hadley Mentoring Program -Paul Hadley Middle School is looking for mentors. Mentors will go to the Middle School once a month and talk about a topic. 

 ▪ The Principal would like mentors to arrive by 10:15 and then we all set out for our classrooms.
 ▪ The first class is 10:30 and then we switch in the 2nd period (7th to an 8th grade classroom) and are done by 11:30.  
 ▪ The classes are 25 minutes plus the 10 minute passing period. 
 ▪ The school has monthly topics if you'd like to use them but most mentors bring in their own topics and games.

Weekday Religious Education

North Madison Elementary Weekday Religious Education has an opportunity for someone on Friday mornings from 9:00-11:00.

This would be two fourth grade classes from 9:25-10:05 and two more fourth grade classes from 10:15-10:55; helpers walk the students from the school to Outreach Missionary Baptist Church.  The helpers do various tasks, such as pass out materials, help students stay focused, and tend to any student needs.  Want to know more - contact Terri White at  

#ServeMoore Events

These events are intentionally designed to make a big impact in our community in a short amount of time. Events happen quarterly and are a great way to begin serving. When you give just a few hours you are able to make a big difference in our community.
