Terry was born and grew up in Kirksville, Mo. He started at Mt. Gilead as the senior minister on Sept. 1, 1972, and served in that capacity until June 1988. He was rehired in October 1997 as the evangelism minister. His primary responsibilities are to help people make the transition from being a guest to becoming a member of Mt. Gilead, facilitate guest ministries including gifts, the greeting ministry and the phoning/calling ministry. He also is involved in pastoral ministry, overseeing hospital visits, the nursing home/shut-in ministry as well as weddings and funerals.

Previously, he ministered in Goodhue, Minn., from 1968 to 1972. He then ministered in Monroeville, Penn., from June 1988 to December 1990 and at North Hills in Pittsburgh, Penn., from March 1991 to December 1994.

Family: Married to Karen. Have four children: Julie Gregory, married to Steve Gregory; Jodi White, married to Troy White; Tim Crist, married to Stacey Crist; and Jen Scott, married to Johnny Scott; and 10 grandchildren
