BJ was born and raised in Butler, Ind. He started at Mt. Gilead as the student minister in April 2008. His primary responsibilities are leading a team of youth workers who minister to students in middle school and high school. Before joining the staff at Mt. Gilead, he was the students minister at a church in Illinois and at a church in Colorado.

Family: Married to Kellie; one daughter, Ava; one son, Truett
